Lego Club
Share & Grow Association Lego Club Policy and Rules of Conduct
(2021-2022 season)
Share & Grow Association Lego Club (“Club”) strives to provide an enjoyable learning atmosphere for all involved. With this in mind, this Policy and Rules of Conduct is adopted.
Coaches:

Organize training sessions that are fun and challenging for your students.

Respect the integrity and personality of the individual students.

Abide by and teach the rules of the game.

In both victory and defeat, model grace, dignity and composure.

Respect the integrity, judgment and authority of the referees.

Agree not to (1) mentor or coach other Lego teams outside the Club or (2) offer robotics education for profit this season.

A coach from the previous season can place his/her child(ren) in the Club for the current season.
Parents:
-
Attend all parent meetings and complete assigned parent duties. Understand that parents may be called to assist coaches from time to time.

Ensure that your child attend training sessions and competition events regularly and on time. Give adequate notice for all absences from training sessions or competition events. Agree that the student will lose his/her eligibility to join the Club for the next season if the student misses more than 3 training sessions or 2 competition events.

Track assigned student action items and remind the student to complete such action items.

Volunteer as a judge or a referee for at least one competition event this season. Agree that the student will lose his/her eligibility to join the Club for the next season if the goal of volunteering is not met.

Agree not to (1) mentor or coach other Lego teams outside the Club or (2) offer robotics education for profit this season.
Students:

Show your commitment to the team by actively participating in training sessions and competition events.

Learn the rules that apply to competition events this season.

Be respectful of your own team members, coaches, volunteers, referees, judges, and other teams. Be appreciative of your parents’ support.

Disruptive behaviors–such as unsafe equipment and tool usage, horseplay, excessive socialization, foul language, or confrontational behavior–or lack of participation–such as excessive absences, leaving the meeting area, absorption in personal technology, or otherwise not contributing to his or her team–are grounds for dismissal. If conduct becomes an issue with a particular student, the coaches reserve the right to either warn the offending student, dismiss the student from a given training session or competition event, or dismiss the student from the Club based on the coaches' discretion.
Lego Club Student and Parent Agreement (2021-2022 season)
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in consideration of my child(ren) being allowed to participate as a student(s) in the 2021-2022 Share & Grow Association Lego Club (“Club”), I, agree as a parent or coach, and agree on behalf of my child(ren), to the following:
1. LIABILITY RELEASE: I hereby release, forever discharge and agree to hold harmless Share & Grow Association, its directors, employees, volunteers and coaches (collectively herein the “S&GA”) from any and all liability, claims or demands for accidental personal injury, sickness or death, as well as property damage and expenses, of any nature whatsoever which may be incurred while participating in the Club. Furthermore, I understand that participating in the Club entails inherent risks, including but not limited to, damage to property, and/or injury or death to people, and, on behalf of myself and my child(ren), hereby assume all risk of accidental personal injury, sickness, death, damage, and expense as a result of participation in the Club.
2. PHOTO RELEASE: I agree that S&GA may photograph and video-record my and my child(ren)’s likeness and activities in the Club. I grant the following rights to S&GA: permission to use and re-use, publish and re-publish, and modify or alter the photos and videos for editorial, advertising, and any other non-profit purposes in any medium now existing or subsequently developed, including but not limited to, the S&GA website and the WeChat app.
